President Biden’s budget proposition satisfies a campaign guarantee to eliminate a longstanding restriction on government financing for most abortions. The restriction was known as the Hyde Amendment.
The spending plan would end the policy which restricted financing for abortion through government projects like Medicaid. The policy, being in affect since 1980, allowed for exemptions on a case by case basis but stopped government spending there. Situations such as rapes, assaults, or to save the life of the mother were exempt from the restriction.
Biden has been feeling the push from left wing Democrats to subvert the Hyde Amendment, which pro-abortion groups claim hurts low-wage females as well as ethnic minorities by preventing them from aborting their unborn. Pro-Life Groups say the Hyde Amendment is responsible for saving an estimated 2.13 million lives.
The Hyde Amendment routinely saves more than 60,000 lives in the United States every year. By a double-digit margin, a majority of all Americans oppose any taxpayer funding of abortion (54 percent to 39 percent). according to studies conducted by Marist Polls.
So why is Biden attempting to reverse Hyde?
As Grandpa used to say, “The jood question.” If anyone can figure out that liberal logic or the lack thereof, yall give us a hollar.
Friends, as you tuck your little ones in tonight and say the Lords Prayer with ’em, teach them to pray to the Good Lord that He would end the daily murdering of tiny unborn souls. God bless y’all! Stay vigilant.
In God’s love,
